Professional Footballers Australia (the PFA) has announced it has extended its partnership with SportsFX for the next three years.
SportsFX will keep supporting Australian footballers playing abroad, helping them handle the complexities of managing their finances internationally.
PFA Chief Executive Beau Busch welcomed the extended partnership and thanked SportsFX for its ongoing support of PFA members.
“There are many aspects of a players’ professional career that they must navigate, and international money transfers remain one of the most complex,” Busch said in a press release.
“To have SportsFX’s support and expertise will give many players peace of mind when transferring money between accounts and countries.”
SportsFX founder Chris Broadfoot said extending the partnership is a great way to continue supporting PFA members with their financial needs while also helping players build their financial knowledge.
“I’m incredibly proud to continue the partnership with the PFA and support their members across every stage of their careers — from emerging national team players to senior internationals, and across both the A-League Men’s and Women’s competitions,” he said in a press release.
“Over the past few years, we’ve helped dozens of players and coaches transfer prize money, protect overseas earnings, and move their funds home safely and strategically.
“With more young Australian players earning international moves, and many returning home or shifting between countries, having a smart currency strategy in place has never been more important.
“Through national camp presentations, webinars, and blog education, I’ve worked closely with the PFA to empower players with financial knowledge that can make a real difference over time.
“It’s a partnership I’m extremely proud of and one that reflects our shared commitment to protecting players, on and off the pitch.”
Many Australian players have relied on their services while playing overseas, and international players have also used them during their time in the A-Leagues.
As part of the expanded partnership, SportsFX will also support the PFA’s Team of the Season, with their branding featured across all related content through to 2028.
The peer-voted PFA Teams of the Season have been a proud tradition since 2009, unveiled each year during the A-Leagues Finals Series.
At the end of every season, PFA members from both the A-League Men and A-League Women vote for their best starting XI.
The players with the most votes in each position make the final team, and the top vote-getter is named Captain.
